Former Vkei Rock Star turned fashion designer/journalist Yuukimaru (幽鬼丸)is going over layouts for next months issue 'Gothic Beauty' when his former band mate turned solo artist Tsukinou Hikaru (月能光 ) comes bursting into his office. Apparently Hikaru was 'lost and in despair! For his costume designer up and quit on him, just like that, less than a month before the launch of his up and coming tour...blah, blah, blah.
"Gods tell me I wasn't this much of a drama queen when I was still in the music business." Yuukimaru thinks to himself.
"Yuu-chan! Please tell me you know of some unearthed gem of a fashion artist who would understand my desires and won't be intimidated by my daunting genius!"
Yuukimaru does know someone. But it would be too cruel to set someone like her on poor unsuspecting Hikaru. But then again, he never had paid Hikaru back for that one time in Osaka. He allows himself a brief malevolent smile before turning to Hikaru.
"Well now that I think of it, there was this one young lady that caught my eye among the amateurs at a resent Goth Loli event a few weeks ago..."
Hikaru's eyes lit up. "Yes?"
"She's spanking new on the fashion scene, just got back from studying in Paris. Her work is genius, inspired..."
"Yes? Yes?"
"She really brings something to the genre. Culture, depth, and her own unique flare, and..."
"Yes! And?"
Yuukimaru turns back to his desk, smiling to himself. It's almost too easy.  "Well she is quite a big fan of yours. She's done copies of some of your outfits for her cosplay section. Got them down to the last detail, and doesn't skimp out on the materials. You'd think she'd gone in and stolen them out of your closet. I'm sure she would have no trouble creating something that would fulfill all your wants and needs."
"Yuu-chan that's perfect! Please! I must know her name.
"Her name is Tsuki (月). "
"Tsuki." Hikaru whispers excitingly "
"Yes. Tsuki Bellerose."
"Bellerose?"
"Apparently her father is French."
"Ah! How romantic! Tell me, where I can find her!"
"Her shop is Utsukushi Bara ( 美しバラ) and it's in Harajuku down a side street between Omotesando and Takeshita street ." Yuukimaru searches through the many cards and flyers he had acquired at various fashion events over the past month until he finds the one he's looking for. A black card with a single red rose on it. On the back is a map with a small rose pin pointing the exact side street the shop was on. He hands it over to the eager rockstar with a grin that was more than a little devious.
So, NaNoWirmo is back in the form of Camp NaNoWrimo
I'm taking a break from my Moonchild story and falling back on one I tried to start awhile ago.
Some of you my remember my Endymion Hikaru Bellerose story... if not click on the Endymion 2 pic I have on my front page for a refresher.

The Chapters will alternate between "Tsuki and Hikaru Chapters" and "Endymion Chapters"
The Tsuki and Hikaru Chapters will simply be labeled Tsuki and Hikaru. The Endymion Chapters will have actual titles.

I started this story back when I was still living in Japan and more heavily influenced by Japanese culture. Here are some notes for those of you who are not flaming Anime fangirls/boys
and/or are unfamiliar with Japanese culture Pop or Otherwise.

Japanese say names with the Surname first. So when I say Tsukinou Hikaru, Hikaru is his given name.

Yuukimaru: 幽鬼丸
The Japanese love puns and plays on words. So the Kanji (those blocky symbols) spelling of a name can make a big differences as to it's meaning.

Maru 丸 means round or circle but is often used as a filler on the ends of words to turn it into a boys name. A similar practice is to tack on Ko 子 on the end to make girls names. Anime fans may be familiar with Sesshōmaru 殺生丸 from Inuyasha. Sessho 殺生 means to kill, more specifically to murder. So basically his name can be translated to something like Killer or Murderer. Another example from Anime is Konohamaru, from Naruto. The Ninja village is called Knonoha, so basically his parents named him after the village.

In the case of Yuukimaru. Yuuki is a word that means brave and is often used as a boys name. The Yuuki which mean brave is spelled with these kanji 勇気. However, to make his name more edgy he actually spells the Yuuki part of his name 幽鬼 which means demon spirt/ghost

Tsukinou Hikaru: 月能光
Another name that plays on words. There is a Japanese surname Tsukino 月野 however Hikaru replaces the no 野 kanji with this 能 nou which means talent and is the Noh of Traditional Noh Theater. Being he's a performer it fits his image. Hikaru 光 is a common boys name that means light. So Tsukinou Hikaru a sort of pun. When spoken it sounds like Tsuki no Hikaru 月の光 which translates to Moonlight.

And Yes Hikaru and Yukkimaru are loosely based on Gackt and Mana.
Gackt and Mana where members of a Vkei band called Malice Mizer. When the band broke up Gackt continued his career in music while Mana dabbled in Goth Loili Fashion. Mana's fashion label is Moi-même-Moitié and he also started The Gothic Loitia Bible fashion Magazine. Tho he eventually does return to music in the band Moi dix Mois.

I only really use their careers as a model. The personalties and other character traits are completely made up.

Goth Loli: Short for Gothic Lolita. A fashion genre in Japan that mixes Goth fashion with clothes that look as if they would come out of the Victorian Era. Think Victorian porcelain dolls with frilly dresses and bows, in black with Gothic Crosses and skulls and spider webs

Vkei: Short for Visual Kei. A Japanese Rock Genre in which the band members dress in dramatic costumes and makeup. Kinda the Japanese version of Glam Rock.

-Chan: Something stuck on the end of names, usually abbreviated, to make an endearing nick name.

-San: Something stuck on the end of names and is used the same way we use Mr/Mrs/Ms

Tsuki 月 - Means Moon. Can be used as either a boys or girls name.

Utsukushi Bara ( 美しバラ) It means Beautiful Rose which is also what the Name Bellerose means.

Harajuku: A famous shopping fashion district in Tokyo known to be the center of Goth Loli fashion in Tokyo.

Takeshita Dori (street) A pedestrian street with tons of Goth loil shops.

Omotesando: The main drag that runs thru Harajuku which is lined with many trendy shops.
